Thorsten Schmidtkord

Love this series titled 'Head on top' by Thorsten Schmidtkord - a photographer from Germany.

The series is really bizarre to look at as a whole, i suggest everyone has a look. It's kinda odd having the top of head on the bottom of the face, but in a way it just similiarly looks like a beard.

Loving it seeing it's all about this facial charactoristics and switching them all about. Really good!!!!

The opening to the exhibition was brilliant! My images were printed 42" landscape, in order to see their quality from a distance as well as intimatly up close.

Luckily i got my frames three days before the opening, and after everyone rushing around for the week commensing, it all went up on time, and all looked fantastic! Most people did an amazing job of it, and produced some great work.

I'm also very happy all my business cards went and i got some lovely feedback through out, and after the exhibition! Thank you!!
Here is the final image of the trilogy shown at my degree show.
Another from this series and shown at my degree show.

What i think is particually successful is the quality of structure of the neck and collerbones, with the freckles and hair on the right side.
Here's one of the photographs from my current body of work recently shown at my University Degree Show.

People excite me as a photographer. The offer me a source of inspiration; each individual and interested which i like to explore and express using my camera.

This current work explores the art of phsyiognomy; by judging character from facial features. Although it can be said the eyes are the window to the soul, is it also true they have the ability to lie and the power to distract us from other charactoristics of the face?

Without the presence of the eyes i feel as if myself and the audience are allowed the oppotunity to look, and study, without being looked back at. By standing physically close to these invidiuals when i take the photographs, i symbolize my intimate relationship in this surreal, and unconventional family portrait.
Right thats it, i am officially going to start updating this reguarly.

Recently i have been far too addicted playing black ops around planning my new project. But now i shall keep you all properly updated with my work, thoughts, and lush photography i see.

I've decided to start fresh and deleted any out of date posts. Hope you enjoy!
